Welcome to this week’s MODULR Minute!
Quick hits, real tools, no fluff. Because you’ve got better things to do than read a 30-minute newsletter.
Let’s go!
In a leaked internal email (later shared publicly), Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke made something very clear: AI isn’t optional anymore.
Shopify now expects employees to use AI reflexively. Not as a nice-to-have. Not for experimentation. As a baseline skill. From engineers and designers to marketers and product managers, AI fluency is now a default expectation—right up there with knowing how to run a meeting or write a coherent Slack message.
The rationale? Efficiency. Tobi argues that if AI can help one person do the work of two, it’s irresponsible not to use it. In other words, AI won’t replace you—but someone who uses it better might.
The kicker is that employees will have to prove AI can’t do a task before being allowed to hire anyone new.
💡 Takeaway: AI is no longer a futuristic experiment. It’s a core competency. If your team isn’t building AI usage into daily workflows, you’re already behind.

We talked about Lovable a few weeks ago. You can read about it here. Well, we just launched a Wordle-style history game using only Lovable and ChatGPT.
Would a developer be able to do it faster? Absolutely.
Does this completely open the door for non-devs to create the things they couldn’t without thousands of dollars? Also, yes.
How we’re thinking about it:
- Fun games
- Website resources (calculators, recommendation engines, etc.)
- Micro-SaaS web apps
- and internal tools
The game is called Chronologix and you should go check it out!
We already have a few more apps in the works. Stay tuned and let us know what we should build next.
You might know Brandon Sanderson as the fantasy author behind Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive. But marketers should know him for something else: he broke Kickstarter.
In 2022, Sanderson casually launched a campaign to self-publish four secret novels. The result? $41.7 million in funding from over 185,000 backers—the most successful Kickstarter of all time.
Why it worked:
- Surprise and delight (four unexpected novels)
- Built-in trust from a loyal fanbase
- Personal engagement from Brandon himself
💡 Takeaway: Build the community first.

One cool example we saw this week: A speaker needed to revamp their standard slide deck for a slightly new topic. They uploaded past decks to ChatGPT’s deep research mode. In a matter of minutes, ChatGPT had combined them with fresh data from the web, filled in gaps, and boom—a new, tailored slide deck with original visuals and copy.
Go deep on any topic. Get sources. Upload your own docs and let it synthesize for you.
💡 Verdict: This is next-level productivity. Especially useful for marketers, consultants, or anyone who builds content across domains. It’s not perfect—but for fast synthesis, it’s gold.
Let us know what resonated (or didn’t). And if you’ve got a hairy automation, reporting, or CRM challenge—we’re always available for a free strategy session. Book a working session here.
