✈️Southwest baggage debacle
🧰Declutter your tech stack
📖Think fast, talk smarter
🧑💻Tech we’re testing
In a puzzling move, Southwest Airlines axed its decades-long free two-checked bags policy, sparking immediate backlash for the company. Frontier Airlines took advantage of its competitor’s mistake, offering a limited-time free checked bag promotion for summer flights. According to Reddit reports, Southwest was warned the updated policy would destroy value at an investor meeting last fall.
The airline still chose to push forward and even attempted to memeify its decision by referencing the Dallas Mavericks’ shocking Luka Dončić trade to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this year. Southwest’s cringe Instagram post insulted its customers further by insinuating they were overreacting…oof.
💡 Takeaway: Always understand what makes your brand unique. Removing a key differentiator—especially one that loyal customers rely on—opens the door for competitors to steal your audience.
To effectively manage and scale a business, you need to have a solid handle on your tech stack. If you’re not intentional with your software, you can fall victim to redundancy and inefficient processes.
Not sure where to start? Check out our guide and learn how to streamline your tech stack, destroy redundancies, and maximize integrations.

AI-generated art is everywhere, but is Midjourney actually useful for marketers, or is it just another AI playground? We took it for a spin.
The good:
✅ Powerful AI – Midjourney can produce truly stunning visuals.
✅ Community inspiration – You can browse and remix others’ prompts to jumpstart your own ideas.
✅ Mood board magic – Organize images into multiple boards and feed them back into your prompts for more consistent results.
✅ Easy image uploads – Pull in reference images from the web to refine your style.
The bad:
⚠ Steep learning curve – Mastering Midjourney requires trial, error, a whole lot of prompt tweaking, and then more trial and error.
⚠ Style consistency is tough – Unlike a human designer, Midjourney struggles to maintain a cohesive brand aesthetic across images.
⚠ Prompting is an art form – You need extreme specificity to get what you want, and even then, AI might surprise you (not always in a good way).
While we’ve enjoyed testing the platform, Joanna Maciejewska summed our feelings up best:
“I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.”
💡 Verdict: If you’re looking for high-quality concept art or creative brainstorming, Midjourney is a powerful tool. But if you need pixel-perfect, on-brand imagery, you might still need a designer in the loop.
Until next week!
